The Chase / The Chase Fish & Oyster
The first two additions to The Chase Hospitality Group’s (CHG) impressive portfolio, The Chase, and The Chase Fish & Oyster, are a pair of upscale financial district restaurants in Toronto’s historical Dineen building.

Occupying the fifth-floor rooftop, The Chase offers North American cuisine in a sophisticated fine dining atmosphere. The Chase Fish & Oyster, located on the ground floor, has a casual East Coast vibe predominately offering a seafood-based menu.
With both restaurants set to open simultaneously, and more on the way, CHG approached Morris Design with the following design challenge: create two distinctly different brand identities under a single overarching aesthetic that could be rolled out into future restaurants.
Creating a strong, recognizable wordmark that could be revised for each new brand offering was key, while a uniform typographic system was utilized for consistency. Colour also played a big part in differentiating the brands, as each got their own signature colour palette.
To celebrate the grand opening, an experiential campaign was created consisting of a food truck pop-up that traveled the city sampling menu items, a website explaining the promotion, and a social media contest to win a Chase VIP dining experience.
